FAQ

Q: Where do your flowers come from?

A: We have amazing relationships with our farmers and we buy the many of our flowers from local farmers. We buy our specialty, out-of-season, and rare flowers from markets abroad via a variety of market whole sellers.

Q: How often do you receive new shipments of flowers?

A: we are able to get our fresh flowers to the peninsula on  Monday, Wednesday,  Thursday & Friday. We order our flowers direct almost every day for the following day.  We do indeed pay more for the convenience of frequent deliveries and we think it is well worth it.

Q: The flowers I ordered on-line did not look exactly like the flowers on your website. Why is that?

A: We are in the business of providing very fresh, seasonal flowers. As stated in our policy section, at the time of purchase, if the season or market does not yield a particular flower shown, we will replace that flower with another lovely flower of like color, size and price.

Q: What are your shop hours?

                     A: Mon-sat   10AM-4:50PM

(yes, 4:50. If you are familiar with Kingston, you know that if we leave any later it will take as twice as long to get home to our families due to ferry traffic).

   Sun 11-4

Q: How do I care for my fresh flowers?

A: Four steps to easy fresh flower care Change the water every day.
Keep the water level at the top of the vase.
Give those beauties a fresh cut every other day.
Keep flowers out of direct sunlight, heat and direct air-conditioning.

Q: How do I care for my orchid?

A: Orchids thrive in a damp and humid filtered-light environment, which means Washington is a prime environment for these island flowers.  Place four ice cubes at the base of your orchid plant and allow to melt 1 time per week. Keep out of direct sunlight, heat vents & air conditioning. Do not touch your orchid too often. They do not like to be fussed with. They do like to be sung to though. Definitely singing.

Q: How do I care for my succulents?

A. succulents are native to California. They thrive in loose, sandy soil, with a touch of humidity and dew. To care for them in wa, let them dry out almost completely (but not completely) in between watering days and pluck any dying leaves. Water lightly and take note how quickly the soil dries out based on its location in your home, ie., filtered sunlight vs. full sunlight. Repeat watering weekly or every other week. You must get to know the space in which you place your succulents and allow them to adjust to their new environment. Succulents do enjoy lots of filtered sunlight but during our hotter days/seasons, do not leave outside as they we burn. In the winter be sure to bring them inside.
